The musical lineup for a \u201cWorld Fair-style celebration\u201d on the National Mall marking America\u2019s 250th birthday will include hip-hop acts Vanilla Ice and Flo Rida, organizers announced Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The rappers will be joined by country star Martina McBride, \u201cGonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)\u201d singers C+C Music Factory and Poison frontman Bret Michaels, according to Freedom 250, a public-private partnership backed by the Trump administration.<\/p>\n

The Great America State Fair, a 16-day \u201cnational exposition,\u201d kicks off June 25 and runs through July 10, with musical performances every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, according to a news release. The organizers said more musical acts would be announced in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

The festivities are designed to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Great American State Fair is America on display and a moment for America to come together,\u201d Freedom 250 chief executive Keith Krach said in a statement. <\/p>\n

The fair \u201cwill bring together people from all 56 states and territories to celebrate the traditions, innovation, music, military heritage, freedom and entrepreneurial spirit that define our nation,\u201d he added. \u201cThe performers, innovators, military heroes, and everyday Americans showcased here represent the very best of who we are, and the boundless opportunity ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n

The musical lineup also features \u201990s-era rapper Young MC (\u201cBust a Move\u201d) and the soul band the Commodores (\u201cBrick House\u201d). <\/p>\n

The list of performers also includes Morris Day and the Time (\u201cJungle Love\u201d). However, the funk-rock group appeared to dispute that, saying in a post on Facebook<\/a>, \u201cIt\u2019s A No For Me.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cContrary to Rumor, Morris Day & The Time Will Not Be Performing At The \u2018GREAT AMERICAN STATE FAIR,\u2019\u201d the group said in an image attached to the post.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Make America the Early \u201990s Again?
