As strong as their remaining riders are, they don\u2019t have the numbers to control the peloton without burning through too many before the climb, and Narv\u00e1ez will need teammates to both position him and lead-out if he is to plan the perfect attack.<\/p>\n 2026-05-28T13:44:28.117Z<\/p>\n There are three teams riding at the front of the peloton – Lidl-Trek, NSN, and, interesting, UAE Team Emirates XRG.<\/p>\n That\u2019s a sign that Narv\u00e1ez wants to go for the stage win, this time from the peloton rather than the breakaway. He\u2019s in a similar mould to Milan in terms of climbing ability. His Soudal team tried to get some riders up the road in the break earlier, but now that they haven\u2019t, Magnier looks set to be their man for the day.<\/p>\n 2026-05-28T13:13:10.450Z<\/p>\n It’s Lidl who are leading the peloton. They must be confident that Milan can survive the final climb. Though he has the build of a pure sprinter, Milan is deceptively good going uphill, and has been among the last of the sprinters to be dropped on many of the climbs this Giro. And after a frustrating, winless Giro, and with so little time left, he\u2019s getting desperate for a win.<\/p>\n 2026-05-28T13:10:06.947Z The peloton isn’t allowing the break too much of a lead.
