Motorists travelling through a busy intersection in Brampton will face longer-than-expected traffic delays.<\/p>\n
Peel Region says temporary lane reductions currently in place at Williams Parkway and Dixie Road have been extended until Friday, June 5, as work continues on a watermain replacement project.<\/p>\n
The construction has reduced Williams Parkway to a single lane in both eastbound and westbound directions at the Dixie Road intersection.<\/p>\n
The work initially began on May 19 and was scheduled to wrap up by May 29, but regional officials have now extended the traffic impacts by another week.<\/p>\n
Peel Region says the project is part of its broader watermain replacement program aimed at maintaining reliable water service while expanding infrastructure to support future population growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis work is required to keep providing you with high-quality water services to the community,\u201d the region said in a notice to residents and motorists.<\/p>\n
Drivers are being warned to expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes where possible.<\/p>\n
Regional officials are also reminding motorists, cyclists and pedestrians to use extra caution around the construction zone by slowing down and watching for crews and other road users.<\/p>\n
