A heat warning has now expanded to include Winnipeg, with Environment Canada warning of several days of dangerous heat and warm overnight temperatures.<\/p>\n
Dangerous temperatures expected into next week<\/p>\n
Daytime highs in the low to mid-30s are expected into early next week, with little to no relief overnight as lows remain in the high teens.<\/p>\n
With temperatures expected to remain this way for the foreseeable future, Environment Canada is reminding Manitobans to stay hydrated and out of direct sunlight when possible. They are also encouraging people to take breaks in cool places such as libraries, community centres and shaded parks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It is also important to check on family, friends and neighbours, especially the older adults, those living alone and anyone who is easily affected by extreme heat.<\/p>\n
Manitobans are also encouraged to watch for the early signs of heat exhaustion, which include headache, dizziness, nausea, thirst, dark urine, and extreme fatigue.<\/p>\n
Heat stroke can become a medical emergency<\/p>\n
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.<\/p>\n
