Montreal\u2019s annual Festival Go v\u00e9lo will draw thousands of cyclists to the city\u2019s streets throughout the weekend. As the city gears up for the festival, it reminds residents to plan for street closures and parking restrictions.<\/p>\n

Organized by V\u00e9lo Qu\u00e9bec, the Tour la Nuit on Friday and the Tour de l\u2019\u00cele de Montr\u00e9al on Sunday will both start and finish at Jarry Park.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Both \u201care iconic events that play an important role in developing cycling culture and promoting the city,\u201d V\u00e9lo Qu\u00e9bec CEO Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Rheault said.<\/p>\n

Cyclists at Friday\u2019s Tour la Nuit will ride through the boroughs of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, St-Laurent and Villeray\u2014St-Michel\u2014Parc-Extension.\u00a0<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the Tour de l\u2019\u00cele fleet will pass through the boroughs of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, C\u00f4te-des-Neiges\u2014Notre-Dame-de-Gr\u00e2ce, Plateau-Mont-Royal, Sud-Ouest, Outremont, Rosemont\u2014La Petite-Patrie, Ville-Marie and Villeray\u2014St-Michel\u2014Parc-Extension.<\/p>\n

\u201cStreet closures and parking restrictions are expected along the routes. The city asks residents to respect parking restrictions, plan their trips, and prioritize public transportation and active mobility,\u201d the mayor\u2019s office wrote in a statement.<\/p>\n

There are also two options for \u201cdiscovery\u201d routes that take 66 km and 91 km trips around the western half of the island, though those are on roads that will not be closed to traffic.<\/p>\n

Details of the routes, street closure times and recommendations for citizens are available on the event website at <\/a>velo.qc.ca<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de transport de Montr\u00e9al has cancelled or rerouted several buses because of the cycling events. A full list of the bus route changes is available at stm.info<\/a>.<\/p>\n
