{"id":700275,"date":"2026-05-28T22:46:11","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T22:46:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/700275\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T22:46:11","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T22:46:11","slug":"man-charged-in-child-exploitation-case-in-surrey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/700275\/","title":{"rendered":"Man charged in child exploitation case in Surrey"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>              Man charged in child exploitation case in Surrey<\/p>\n<p class=\"pubStamp\">Published 2:37 pm Thursday, May 28, 2026<\/p>\n<p>A 41-year-old man has been charged in connection with a Surrey Police child exploitation investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The SPS Internet Child Exploitation Unit started investigating in January 2025 after receiving reports about the suspect possessing and distributing child sexual abuse and exploitation material online.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2025, police executed a search warrant at a home in South Surrey, where investigators located and seized items related to the investigation.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Reade is charged with possessing and distributing child sexual abuse and exploitation material, unsafe storage of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a prohibited device.<\/p>\n<p>Reade appeared in Surrey provincial court on Thursday (May 28) and was released on \u201cnumerous court-imposed conditions,\u201d police said.
