But they\u2019ve been as unlucky as anyone with six starters on the injured list, and also as unproductive as anyone (<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/05\/27\/sports\/tarik-skubal-return-might-not-be-enough-to-save-floundering-tigers\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">they\u2019re 4-18 since Skubal went out.<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>The two-time defending Cy Young winner has already thrown two encouraging bullpens.
