Apparently, the Edmonton Oilers<\/a> leaked the Bruce Cassidy news that he hasn\u2019t been granted permission to speak to other teams \u2014 at\u00a0least that\u2019s what Kelly McCrimmon says.<\/p>\n

McCrimmon said he didn\u2019t have much more to add than what he said last week, when he said that Vegas was focused on the playoffs. However, he did say Edmonton is where the leak originated.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s only news because Edmonton leaked it,\u201d McCrimmon told Overdrive. <\/p>\n

\u201cThis isn\u2019t something that came out of our organization. We\u2019ve been forced to respond to it, which we did prior to our series against the Avalanche, but I\u2019ve talked to Bruce. I\u2019ve talked to Bruce as recently as yesterday. I know how he feels. I know he wants to coach. He\u2019s a hell of a coach, and he\u2019s anxious to get going. <\/p>\n

\u201cCoaches, by definition, aren\u2019t real patient people, so I understand what he wants and why he wants it. And at the same time, I work for the Vegas Golden Knights, so my responsibilities are first and foremost to the organization, and that\u2019s as much as I\u2019m going to say on it, in addition to what I said a week ago.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Cassidy saga takes new twists and turns as the backdrop to the Golden Knights\u2019 run to the Stanley Cup Final, the third time in the nine-year history of the franchise, and the second since McCrimmon took over as GM.<\/p>\n

Cassidy, the coach for the 2023 Cup, said, \u201cIt\u2019s upsetting\u201d that he hasn\u2019t been granted permission to interview for a new head coaching job. He was relieved of his duties with just eight games left in the regular season. <\/p>\n

The Oilers and the Los Angeles Kings have asked to speak to him.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThere was two teams that asked. It\u2019s public knowledge now. And I would like to talk to them,\u201d said Cassidy. \u201cI want to go to work. I\u2019m a hockey coach. As much as I love being around Biz at TNT, I want to get back to work. And I got to tell you, get me out of here.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
