{"id":700717,"date":"2026-05-29T03:37:13","date_gmt":"2026-05-29T03:37:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/700717\/"},"modified":"2026-05-29T03:37:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-29T03:37:13","slug":"canadas-south-bow-delays-keystone-xl-restart-until-us-permit-assured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/700717\/","title":{"rendered":"Canada\u2019s South Bow delays Keystone XL restart until US permit assured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"504\" height=\"304\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Keystone-e1455233815827.png\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/>\nSouth Bow will not proceed with a partial revival of the Keystone XL pipeline until it has proof that a U.S. presidential permit is \u201cdurable,\u201d the pipeline operator\u2019s CEO, Bevin Wirzba, said on Thursday at the Energy Roundtable conference in Calgary, Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The Alberta-to-Wyoming pipeline, proposed by South Bow and its U.S. partner Bridger Pipeline, could increase Canada\u2019s crude exports to the U.S. by more than 12% if it goes ahead, bringing much-needed pipeline takeaway capacity to Canada.<\/p>\n<p>The company said in May it had begun work to secure regulatory approvals along the U.S. route of its proposed Prairie Connector project.<\/p>\n<p>South Bow was spun off by former Keystone XL proponent <a href=\"https:\/\/boereport.com\/tag\/tc-energy\/?utm_campaign=kw-link-name\" class=\"keyword-link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">TC Energy<\/a> in 2024 to take over its oil pipeline business.
