Image supplied by Ferrari<\/p>\n<p>The launch of Ferrari\u2019s first fully electric production car has divided opinion, with former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo declaring that the company risks \u201cdestroying a legend\u201d and even suggesting the famous Prancing Horse badge should be removed from the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>Related Article:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autoracing1.com\/pl\/493909\/automotive-news-ferraris-woke-ev-causes-stock-price-to-plummet\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Automotive News: Ferrari\u2019s \u2018woke\u2019 EV causes stock price to plummet<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Alpine advisor Flavio Briatore was similarly scathing, joking that the Luce\u2019s only advantage was that \u201cthe Chinese will definitely not copy this model\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But while critics attacked the 550,000 euro electric Ferrari, Hamilton and Leclerc were enthusiastically promoting the car after driving it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn terms of the attention to detail, you can tell that it\u2019s very Ferrari,\u201d seven-time world champion Hamilton said.<\/p>\n<p>Leclerc, meanwhile, praised Ferrari\u2019s decision to move away from touchscreen-heavy interiors. \u201cI love it\u2019s back to having more physical buttons so you can actually drive, look at the road and you can feel,\u201d the Monegasque explained.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton was particularly impressed by the driving characteristics.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe power delivery is amazing,\u201d he said. \u201cYou just feel centered the whole time even when you\u2019re going through corners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The seven time world champion also highlighted the low center of gravity made possible by the battery layout. \u201cWhen we were going over the curves, how it just continues to stay connected to the ground \u2013 that for me is the best part of the technology,\u201d Hamilton said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe center of gravity is very low which is really nice. In most cars the car rolls a lot. This doesn\u2019t roll.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Even Leclerc, a long-time advocate of traditional combustion-powered Ferraris, admitted he was surprised by one aspect of the EV.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s the sound that\u2019s actually \u2013 I liked that electric sound,\u201d he said. \u201cThat\u2019s pretty cool.
