\n\tJames Gunn<\/a> isn\u2019t in a rush to find the next Wonder Woman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Superman<\/a> director revealed that he\u2019s not currently casting for his Wonder Woman film while responding to rumors that fans shared on Threads<\/a>. Gunn confirmed that he is not actively looking for actors to star in the movie \u201cnor even discussing it, until a script is finished.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tHe also denied speculation that DC Studios<\/a> is specifically in search of \u201can actress with a TV-centric resume, akin to Supergirl\u2019s Milly Alcock<\/a>,\u201d for the titular role.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cNope. And I\u2019d never in a million years look for a major role based on whether they did TV, films, or whatever,\u201d he wrote. \u201cIt\u2019s all about the casting.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tOf the upcoming Wonder Woman film, the Guardians of the Galaxy<\/a> writer-director further tackled rumors that the project is being \u201cfast-tracked,\u201d according to reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt\u2019s a priority but I wouldn\u2019t call that fast-tracked,\u201d he said. \u201cNothing is going to be shot unless we\u2019re as sure as we can be that the script is good.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tGunn recently opened up about his casting process for Superman<\/a>. The lead role ultimately went to David Corenswet, though Nicholas Hoult (who ended up playing villain Lex Luthor<\/a>) notably also auditioned for the role<\/a> of the Man of Steel.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cYou know, Nick Hoult auditioned [for Superman]. He\u2019s a great actor. I mean, some might say he\u2019s better than David in certain ways, but he just didn\u2019t fit the role, and that\u2019s why he didn\u2019t get that,\u201d Gunn said. \u201cAs much as you can transform yourself as a person, Nick was just more controlled.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tPart of what sold Gunn on Corenswet as Superman was his chemistry test with Rachel Brosnahan<\/a>, who plays Lois Lane.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cOne of the things that we were also doing was mixing and matching Lois and Clarks when we were auditioning them, and so I wanted to make sure that we had that chemistry right,\u201d he said. \u201cDavid had better chemistry with Rachel because she\u2019s a very controlled actor, and David is a little bit more, you know, loose, and that creates a different type of dynamism onscreen.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"James Gunn isn\u2019t in a rush to find the next Wonder Woman.
