Born in London, Hugh Skinner, 41, trained at Lamda and appeared in the BBC\u2019s Tess of the D\u2019Urbervilles in 2008. From 2014 to 2017, he played Will in the comedy series W1A; he also appeared in Fleabag and The Windsors. His films include Les Mis\u00e9rables and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. In 2024, he starred in The Importance of Being Earnest at the National Theatre. He reprises the role of Will in Twenty Twenty Six, and stars in the new BBC drama Two Weeks in August. He lives in London.<\/p>\n
What is your greatest fear?
Pigeons. One got stuck in my flat once for quite a long time and it really changed how I feel about them.<\/p>\n

Accidentally walking on to set naked for a scene where I wasn\u2019t actually supposed to be naked.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d like to be able to stop time.<\/p>\n
What do you most dislike about your\u00a0appearance?
I\u2019ve got tiny, tiny eyes and my hairline is racing back. But I\u2019m hatching a\u00a0variety of plans, so watch this space.<\/p>\n

Prince William or Jessie Buckley.<\/p>\n
Who is your celebrity crush?
My first was the whole male cast of late 1990s Neighbours.<\/p>\n
If you could bring something extinct back to life, what would you choose?
The old millionaire\u2019s shortbread from Caff\u00e8 Nero. It was arrestingly good, but\u00a0something\u2019s changed.<\/p>\n
What is your most unappealing habit?
Smoking.<\/p>\n
What is the worst thing anyone\u2019s ever\u00a0said to you?
I\u2019m not interested.<\/p>\n
What was the last lie that you told?
It\u2019s not the last one, but when I was nine I told everyone at school I was starring in West Side Story in the West\u00a0End, in this amazing new part they\u2019d created for a nine-year-old. I\u00a0got\u00a0congratulated in assembly. My\u00a0mum was quite cross.<\/p>\n
What does love feel like?
Like nothing\u2019s a problem.<\/p>\n
What was the best kiss of your life?
Early 2020. The first financial quarter.<\/p>\n

Fantastic and brilliant.<\/p>\n
What has been your biggest disappointment?
In the back of my mind I just assumed I\u2019d be in a boyband at some point.<\/p>\n
