Manitoba Hydro is asking people in Winnipeg’s Westwood neighbourhood to reduce their electrical use during peak times over the coming days, as the utility works on capacity and reliability upgrades at the area’s Cavalier substation.<\/p>\n

It’s asking roughly 1,400 customers between Westwood Drive and Bedson Street, from Portage Avenue south to the Assiniboine River, to delay using appliances like dishwashers, washing machines and dryers and electric vehicle chargers until after 10 p.m. each night.<\/p>\n
