Juan Manuel Cerundolo somehow followed up his stunning upset of Jannik Sinner by winning a near six-hour epic against Martin Landaluce, while Matteo Berrettini edged Francisco Comesana in another five-set classic that finished deep into the evening.<\/p>\n
Frances Tiafoe also staged a remarkable comeback from two sets down, and Felix Auger-Aliassime kept his title hopes alive to remain one of the few top seeds still standing.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Zachary Svajda continued his dream run with another upset, Flavio Cobolli cruised into the fourth round in dominant fashion, and Alejandro Tabilo ended the run of French wildcard Mo\u00efse Kouam\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Fresh off one of the biggest upsets of the tournament against World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, Cerundolo somehow backed it up with another epic, outlasting Landaluce in the third-longest Roland Garros match on record.<\/p>\n
The Argentine prevailed after five hours and 57 minutes in a brutal physical battle where the margins could barely have been tighter; Cerundolo won 214 points to Landaluce\u2019s 213. At 6\/8 down in the deciding super tie-break, Cerundolo reeled off the final four points to complete another astonishing escape act in Paris.<\/p>\n
The win pushes Cerundolo into the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time and guarantees a Top 50 debut in the rankings.<\/p>\n
If the supposedly superior Cerundolo had a similar mindset, they\u2019d both be in the fourth round.<\/p>\n
Matteo Berrettini def. Francisco Comesana 7-6(3), 5-7, 6-7(4), 6-4, 7-6(13)<\/p>\n
Berrettini produced one of the grittiest wins of his career, surviving two match points to edge Comesana after five hours and 13 minutes.<\/p>\n
Competing at Roland Garros for the first time since 2021, the Italian looked close to defeat multiple times in a nerve-shredding deciding-set tie-break.<\/p>\n
Comesana held match points at 9-8 and 13-12, but Berrettini\u2019s serve repeatedly bailed him out under maximum pressure.<\/p>\n
The former Wimbledon finalist eventually converted his fourth match point to seal one of the matches of the tournament so far.<\/p>\n
A huge win for Berrettini, as usually when things get physical, he\u2019s been found wanting due to perennial abdominal problems.<\/p>\n
Zachary Svajda def. Francisco Cerundolo 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 4-6, 6-3<\/p>\n
American qualifier Svajda reached the fourth round of a Slam for the first time after stunning 25th seed Francisco Cerundolo in a dramatic five-setter.<\/p>\n
Svajda looked in complete control after two sets, but Cerundolo stormed back as the American began struggling physically. Even after losing the third and fourth sets, Svajda regrouped impressively, breaking twice early in the decider to seize control.<\/p>\n
Serving for the match at 5-3 brought fresh drama, but Svajda eventually closed it out on his third match point before emotionally pointing to the sky on what would have been his late father\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n
Cerundolo never seems to get it done when it really counts, and this wide-open draw was the perfect opportunity for him to work his way into the back end of a Grand Slam.<\/p>\n
Flavio Cobolli def. Learner Tien 6-2, 6-2, 6-3<\/p>\n
Cobolli delivered one of the most dominant performances of the day, dismantling Learner Tien in straight sets to continue his impressive Roland Garros campaign.<\/p>\n
The Italian converted seven of 13 break points and completely controlled the baseline exchanges, ending Tien\u2019s six-match winning streak in emphatic fashion.<\/p>\n
With several top seeds already out, Cobolli is one of the most dangerous players left in this half of the draw.<\/p>\n
Alejandro Tabilo def. Mo\u00efse Kouam\u00e9 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(9)<\/p>\n
Tabilo ended the run of 17-year-old French wildcard Kouam\u00e9, but not before being pushed by the well-supported teenager.<\/p>\n
Kouam\u00e9 took the opening set and had the Paris crowd fully behind him throughout, forcing a tense fourth-set tie-break after Tabilo had taken control of the match.<\/p>\n
The Chilean eventually held his nerve to reach the fourth round of a major for the first time in his career, collapsing to the clay in celebration after nearly four hours on court.<\/p>\n
Frances Tiafoe def. Jaime Faria 4-6, 6-7(2), 7-6(4), 6-1, 6-2<\/p>\n
Frances Tiafoe produced one of the comebacks of the tournament under the Court Suzanne-Lenglen lights, rallying from two sets down to defeat qualifier Jaime Faria and reach the Roland Garros fourth round for a second straight year.<\/p>\n
The American was just five points from defeat when Faria served in the third set, but Tiafoe dug deep, extending rallies and forcing errors before finally breaking back on his fourth break point opportunity.<\/p>\n
That proved the turning point. Tiafoe dominated the third-set tie-break, then completely took over physically and mentally, dropping just three games across the final two sets in a four-hour turnaround victory.<\/p>\n
A bit of controversy towards the end with a line call that both players argued over, but it didn\u2019t affect the outcome, and Faria can be pleased with his tournament, as Dimitrov served for the match twice in the first round of qualifying.<\/p>\n
Tiafoe will next face Matteo Arnaldi, who survived a five-set battle of his own against Raphael Collignon.<\/p>\n
