\"Tusshar Twenty-five years after making his debut with \u2018Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai\u2019 opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tusshar Kapoor<\/a> finds himself returning to the very genre that has defined a large part of his career. While the actor is gearing up for the release of \u2018Welcome To The Jungle\u2019 and \u2018Golmaal 5\u2019, he is also exploring a different space with Prakash Jha<\/a>\u2019s political drama \u2018Janaadesh\u2019. Looking back on his journey, Tusshar says the milestone feels surreal. \u201cTwenty-five years passed in the blink of an eye.\u201dOver the years, Tusshar has become one of the most recognisable faces in comedy, thanks largely to the success of the \u2018Golmaal\u2019 and \u2018Welcome\u2019 franchises. Talking to Mid-day, the actor admits that these films played a huge role in making him a household name across generations. \u201cI feel blessed that these universes have stayed with me.\u201dDespite constantly exploring new opportunities, he says there is no question of stepping away from the two franchises that have become synonymous with his career. \u201cFranchises are a great thing as long as you can keep up with the audience\u2019s expectations. I\u2019ll never stop doing the \u2018Welcomes\u2019 and the \u2018Golmaals\u2019. They are my bread and butter.\u201dTusshar believes the films helped him build a connection with audiences that extends far beyond box office numbers. \u201cThey are the reason why I became a household name, connecting with children and older people.\u201dEven though comedy remains his strongest identity on screen, Tusshar is conscious of the need to evolve as an actor. \u201cHowever, I have to keep reinventing myself and doing different roles.\u201d That desire to experiment is one of the reasons he chose to be part of \u2018Janaadesh\u2019, a political thriller that offers a sharp contrast to the light-hearted entertainers he is best known for.<\/p>\n

Tusshar Kapoor on reuniting with Akshay Kumar<\/p>\n

\u2018Welcome To The Jungle\u2019 reunites Tusshar with Akshay Kumar, a co-star he has previously worked with in films such as \u2018Khakee\u2019 and \u2018Insan\u2019. The actor is full of praise for director Ahmed Khan, who has managed the challenge of handling an ensemble cast featuring more than 30 actors.\u201cHe never compromised on how he visualised and executed the film. He has justified the cast in the story.\u201d Tusshar added that the film’s scale and complexity are the reasons it has taken time to come together. \u201cMaybe that\u2019s why it has taken time, but that\u2019s his passion.\u201dSpeaking about Akshay, he highlighted the superstar\u2019s commitment despite his playful personality. \u201cAkshay is sharp and the entire script is at the tip of his fingers. Even though he\u2019s always joking around and playing pranks, he works equally hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back to the madness of \u2018Golmaal\u2019<\/p>\n

For Tusshar, returning to Rohit Shetty<\/a>\u2019s beloved comedy franchise feels less like work and more like a reunion with old friends. Before beginning work on \u2018Golmaal 5\u2019, the cast revisited \u2018Golmaal Again\u2019 to reconnect with the franchise’s signature energy and humour.\u201cWe watched it to bring back that energy. We\u2019ve all grown up together making these films.\u201d He also praised director Rohit Shetty for creating a disciplined yet comfortable work environment. \u201cRohit is another institution. Everything is organised, everything is scheduled, and his team makes you feel so comfortable.\u201dWhile the success of comedy films has brought him immense popularity, Tusshar acknowledges that being strongly associated with one genre can sometimes be limiting. However, he chooses to view it as a compliment rather than a challenge. \u201cOf course you get typecast.
