NASCAR driver Justin Allgaier planned to quit after the 2026 season; JR Motorsports attempts to talk him out of it<\/p>\n
Justin Allgaier has spent the last 17 years racing in the NASCAR O\u2019Reilly Series. 520 races later, he\u2019s collected 32 race wins and he won the championship in 2024.<\/p>\n
The 39-year-old sits 6th on the all-time wins list for the series. With four wins this year alone, he just passed Jack Ingram. <\/p>\n
The driver went to victory lane as recently as last night at Nashville Superspeedway.<\/p>\n
Allgaier currently leads the 2026 standings, by a lot. But, the driver has plans to retire at the end of this season.<\/p>\n
The driver of the No. 7 is currently one race win away from tying his all-time season high of five wins. JR Motorsports isn\u2019t having it and they\u2019re attempting to keep Allgaier around for 2027\u2026<\/p>\n
Justin Allgaier says he was planning to quit<\/p>\n
\u201cI was quitting at the end of the year if I\u2019m being perfectly honest with you I was retiring,\u201d Justin Allgaier told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re working on making that not happen. JRM\u2019s been on me. After I won my third race of the year, I walked in on a Monday morning and LW and Joe pulled me into Joe\u2019s office and they\u2019re like, \u2018Why are you quitting? Why are you doing this?\u2019 \u201c<\/p>\n \u201cSo, we\u2019ll see. I don\u2019t know. I can\u2019t promise you anything.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cMy wife\u2019s been on me to not quit. She doesn\u2019t want to see me quit.\u201d<\/p>\n Allgaier has also run 87 NASCAR Cup Series races.
