{"id":70726,"date":"2025-08-15T04:16:07","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T04:16:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/70726\/"},"modified":"2025-08-15T04:16:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T04:16:07","slug":"andrey-rublev-explains-why-it-is-so-hard-to-beat-carlos-alcaraz-ahead-of-their-clash-in-cincinnati","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/70726\/","title":{"rendered":"Andrey Rublev explains why it is so hard to beat Carlos Alcaraz ahead of their clash in Cincinnati"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Andrey Rublev has booked his place in a second consecutive Cincinnati Open quarterfinal after defeating Francisco Comesana in straight sets.<\/p>\n<p>The Russian won 6-2, 6-3 to finally reach the last eight of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/atp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ATP<\/a> Masters 1000 tournament in 2025, after several second and third-round exits. <\/p>\n<p>His next opponent comes in the form of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/carlos-alcaraz\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Carlos Alcaraz<\/a>, who he played recently at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Wimbledon<\/a> championships earlier this summer. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/news\/true-champion-andrey-rublev-praised-for-what-he-did-immediately-after-losing-to-carlos-alcaraz-at-wimbledon\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rublev lost to Alcaraz<\/a> in South West London in four sets, but the world number 11 says he has learned a lot from the result.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"674\" loading=\"lazy\"  src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/GettyImages-2223840645-1024x674.jpg\" alt=\"Carlos Alcaraz and Andrey Rublev at the net after their fourth-round match at Wimbledon.\" class=\"wp-image-108881\" \/>Photo by Visionhaus via Getty ImagesAndrey Rublev gives his thoughts on Carlos Alcaraz ahead of their match <\/p>\n<p>When asked what he took from his Wimbledon match with the Spaniard, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thetennisgazette.com\/tag\/andrey-rublev\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Rublev<\/a> said: \u201cThat I must keep working, that it\u2019s the right path; it\u2019s the level I need to aim for to be able to compete. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just need to keep building, consolidating and improving, so that I can sustain that level for a long time, without any dips. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt that level, one or two points, and you get broken.
