{"id":707299,"date":"2026-06-01T06:58:08","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T06:58:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/707299\/"},"modified":"2026-06-01T06:58:08","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T06:58:08","slug":"brampton-man-dies-after-canoe-capsizes-on-upper-rideau-lake-my-kemptville-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/707299\/","title":{"rendered":"Brampton man dies after canoe capsizes on Upper Rideau Lake : My Kemptville Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Police say one person is dead after their canoe capsized on Upper Rideau Lake.<\/p>\n<p>Leeds County OPP say they responded to a marine distress call involving a capsized canoe around 5:30 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Officers, along with Leeds and Grenville Paramedics and the Rideau Lakes Fire Department arrived at the scene and found the victim who was transported to hospital where they were pronounced deceased.<\/p>\n<p>The deceased has been identified as a 24-year-old male from Brampton. <\/p>\n<p>A postmortem examination will be conducted and police say the individual was not wearing a personal flotation device.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Police say one person is dead after their canoe capsized on Upper Rideau Lake.
