The\u00a0H\u00f6lstein Editions<\/a> are Oris\u2019<\/a>\u00a0annual limited-edition watches, released each June 1st to celebrate the brand\u2019s birthday and honour its roots in H\u00f6lstein, Switzerland. Introduced in the early 2000s, the more elegant Artelier family<\/a> was fully redesigned this year to become a more contemporary and versatile lineup. Marking its 122nd birthday, Oris releases the H\u00f6lstein Edition 2026, based on a new Artelier model with a small seconds complication, powered by the in-house-developed Oris calibre 401.<\/p>\n

Keen to generate interest among a younger generation, Oris has entrusted the update of the Artelier collection to Lena Huwiler, a 24-year-old product design engineer. References like the Artelier Complication<\/a>, the Artelier Date<\/a> and the Artelier business calendar<\/a> powered by the in-house calibre 113 all reflect the appealing makeover. The H\u00f6lstein Edition Artelier is a sleek time-only model in a compact 39.5mm steel case, measuring 11.1mm in height and a lug-to-lug span of 45.5mm. The polished finish gives the case\u2019s clean, unpretentious lines a more luxurious feel.<\/p>\n

The minimalist light grey dial\u2019s protagonist is the mirror-polished small seconds sub-dial at noon, highlighted by a bright red hand. Designed by Huwiler for the Artelier collection, the distinctive wedge-shaped, tapering hour markers, polished to catch the light, were inspired by indices used by Oris in the 1960s. The blunt-tipped hands echo the shape of the stepped indices and have a slim luminescent insert.<\/p>\n

The caseback is decorated with the friendly face of Oris\u2019 bear mascot. Like the concentric rings and the words \u201cH\u00f6lstein Edition 2026\u201d, the bear is laser-engraved to produce a special iridescent mirror effect that produces a rainbow of colours when it catches the light.<\/p>\n

Hidden below is the brand\u2019s Calibre 401, based on the proprietary automatic Calibre 400<\/a>, released in 2020 and conceived internally by Oris. A high-performance antimagnetic movement, the calibre has twin barrels to deliver a powerful 5-day\/120-hour power reserve. Replacing the central seconds and date with a small seconds sub-dial at 6 o\u2019clock, calibre 401 retains all the virtues of its progenitor.<\/p>\n
