{"id":708078,"date":"2026-06-01T15:47:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T15:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/708078\/"},"modified":"2026-06-01T15:47:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T15:47:09","slug":"medicine-delivery-driver-admits-stealing-ozempic-from-employer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/708078\/","title":{"rendered":"Medicine delivery driver admits stealing Ozempic from employer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">A delivery driver has admitted stealing thousands of pounds worth of weight-loss drug Ozempic from the pharmaceutical wholesaler he worked for.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Peter Daniel, 62, from Croydon, south London, pleaded guilty to stealing more than 30 boxes of the medication from Cencora Alliance Healthcare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Croydon Magistrates&#8217; Court heard Daniel was caught on CCTV after customers complained they were missing deliveries between 17 April and 5 May. Police searched Daniel&#8217;s home and found 34 boxes of Ozempic worth \u00a34,080 in his fridge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The court was told he did not steal the drug for &#8220;commercial gain&#8221; but used it to treat an unspecified eating disorder.
