In his first episode since his friend Stephen Colbert\u2019s final \u201cLate Show,\u201d John Oliver promptly called out CBS\u2019 replacement, Byron Allen,<\/a> daring him to try and compete with the HBO host\u2019s own bit.<\/p>\n

The moment came after an odd debate Oliver had with himself during Sunday episode, in which he toyed with whether he would ever have sexual relations with any of the animated characters he\u2019s voiced. Yes, really. It was a question that came up as Oliver made fun of a January 6th rioter, who was pardoned.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe looks like what had happened if Steve Carell f\u2013ked Gru, which must be something that Steve\u2019s thought about, right?\u201d Oliver joked. \u201cDoesn\u2019t every voice actor wonder what it\u2019d be like to have sex with the cartoon character that they voice? I know I have.\u201d<\/p>\n

From there, Oliver launched into his entire thought process, specifically referring to Vanity Smurf from the 2011 film \u201cThe Smurfs,\u201d and Zazu from Disney\u2019s live-action \u201cThe Lion King.\u201d Eventually, he determined that he would, in fact, have relations with his characters, \u201cbut I\u2019d feel really guilty about it afterwards.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyway, I would love to talk about this more, but we don\u2019t have time, so I\u2019ll just conclude by saying this: Let\u2019s see Byron Allen do that on \u2018Comics Unleashed,’\u201d Oliver finished.<\/p>\n

Indeed, Allen and \u201cComics Unleashed\u201d took over Colbert\u2019s time slot on CBS just over a week ago, the night after Colbert\u2019s final show. Allen debuted to lackluster ratings<\/a>, dropping 87% from Colbert\u2019s finale the night before. In his first show in the time slot, Allen gave a quick shoutout to Colbert<\/a> and other predecessors.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast Week Tonight with John Oliver\u201d airs Sundays at 11 p.m. on HBO.<\/p>\n
