The league’s arguably best division just got a little more interesting. The league’s best defensive player, defensive end Myles Garrett<\/a>, is headed to the Los Angeles Rams<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Rams agreed to a trade with the Cleveland Browns<\/a> sending third-year pass rusher Jared Verse<\/a>, a 2027 first-round draft pick, a 2028 second-round pick and a 2029 third-round pick for Garrett.<\/p>\n

As good as Verse has been in two seasons, making the Pro Bowl both years and winning Defensive Rookie of the Year, he has 12 career sacks.<\/p>\n

Garrett set the NFL single-season record for sacks with 23 last season, winning Defensive Player of the Year for the second time. He is a seven-time Pro Bowler and five-time first-team All-Pro.<\/p>\n

Garrett had a no-trade clause in his contract that he waived to join the Rams, and he will continue to have that clause.<\/p>\n

His cap hit with the Rams in 2026 will only be $8.14 million.<\/p>\n

The Cardinals<\/a> will now have to face Garrett twice. He has two sacks in two career games against the Cardinals.<\/p>\n

They were already a top-10 defense last season. They added Garrett and cornerback Trent McDuffie<\/a>.<\/p>\n
