Joy Behar is stepping away from the \u201cHot Topics\u201d table \u2014 temporarily, of course.<\/p>\n

Though the comedian typically doesn\u2019t appear on Monday episodes of \u201cThe View,\u201d the June 1 airing marked the beginning of her two-week absence from the daily talk show.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s been a lot of media attention on me lately because I\u2019m taking off the next two weeks,\u201d Behar said on the May 29 episode. \u201cThey\u2019re calling it a hiatus. It\u2019s not a hiatus.\u201d<\/p>\n

Joy Behar (seen above during a May appearance on the \u201cBehind the Table\u201d podcast) is absent from \u201cThe View\u201d for two weeks due a trip to Paris and putting on her play in London. YouTube\/The View<\/p>\n

The comedian (pictured on the podcast again) told Brian Teta she\u2019d also be playwriting in \u201cvarious cafes\u201d in Paris and taking her play \u201cMy First Ex-Husband\u201d to the West End. YouTube\/The View<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m working,\u201d she explained. \u201cI have a planned trip overseas next week to work on my play, \u2018My First Ex-Husband,\u2019 in London.\u201d<\/p>\n

This echoed what Behar had previously shared on the May 26 episode of the \u201cBehind the Table\u201d podcast<\/a> when she told , \u201cI fly to Paris this week, and then I go take the tunnel to London after a week,\u201d she told \u201cThe View\u201d executive producer Brian Teta.<\/p>\n

The co-host shared that during her week in London she\u2019d be putting on her play, \u201cMy First Ex-Husband,\u201d on the West End, noting Jackie Hoffman and two British actors would be joining her in the cast.<\/p>\n

The show, which comically tackles themes like marriage and divorce, previously debuted Off-Broadway in New York in February 2025.<\/p>\n

Behar said her week in the City of Love will be spent on playwriting \u201cin various cafes\u201d and checking out some art exhibits, including one featuring Matisse.<\/p>\n

\u201cDoesn\u2019t that sound like fun,\u201d the TV personality, 83, gushed of the sojourn.<\/p>\n

Teta then explained that \u201cvarious folks\u201d would be filling in for the talk show icon during her two-week hiatus, including Sheryl Underwood, fresh off the Kevin Hart roast special, and Kara Swisher, whom he said \u201cis very funny and smart.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhoopi is going to be here on Fridays,\u201d Teta quipped, adding, \u201cI don\u2019t think she knows that. I\u2019ll let her know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Behar, who has been part of \u201cThe View\u201d since the show began in 1997 save for two seasons, previously alarmed fans with an unplanned two-episode absence<\/a> from the show in November 2025.<\/p>\n
