Foundry<\/a>, which has mulitple locations across the province, including four on Vancouver Island with another three in development.<\/p>\n\u201cYoung people deserve easy access to care that meets them where they are, without barriers or stigma,\u201d said Josie Osborne, minister of health. <\/p>\n
\u201cFoundry West Shore will bring critical mental health, substance use and wellness supports together under one roof, making it easier for youth and their families to get help early. By partnering with communities like Langford, we\u2019re building a system of care that is more connected, compassionate and responsive to the needs of young people.\u201d<\/p>\n
The child care centre will have 73 spaces.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re making it easier for parents and families in Langford to access affordable child care. These new spaces will help ease the pressure on parents and give more children a place to learn and grow in their own community,\u201d said Stephanie McLean, Canada\u2019s secretary of state for seniors and Member of Parliament for Esquimalt\u2014Saanich\u2014Sooke. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhen children have access to a great start in life, families thrive and all Canadians benefit.\u201d<\/p>\n
The building was initially intended to be a six-storey, 40-unit affordable housing project, but \u201cchanges to the pace of provincial housing funding\u201d changed the plans for the site.<\/p>\n
The site at 2805 Carlow Road is currently the home of the Centennial Center for Arts, which will move in early 2027 to a facility currently under construction.<\/p>\n
Construction on the new two-storey building will begin in 2027 and expected to be complete in 2028.<\/p>\n
