Air raid alerts were activated across much of\u00a0the country as\u00a0Russian forces launched waves of\u00a0drones throughout the evening before expanding the attack overnight with missile strikes. Ukraine\u2019s Air Force warned of\u00a0incoming aerial threats, while monitoring groups reported activity by\u00a0Russian Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers.<\/p>\n

Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia were among the cities affected.<\/p>\n

Explosions were heard overnight in\u00a0the capital as\u00a0Ukrainian air defenses engaged incoming targets. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported several fires caused by\u00a0falling debris.<\/p>\n

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported<\/a> multiple fires and damage in\u00a0several districts. In\u00a0the Podilskyi district, a\u00a0fire broke out on\u00a0the grounds of\u00a0a\u00a0non-residential property. Debris also reportedly struck the roof of\u00a0a\u00a0nine-story residential building, causing a\u00a0fire and damaging windows.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the Obolonskyi district, falling missile debris set several vehicles on\u00a0fire and sparked additional fires at\u00a0two separate locations, including an\u00a0area near a\u00a0kindergarten.<\/p>\n

Klitschko later reported a\u00a0fire at\u00a0a\u00a0non-residential site in\u00a0the Sviatoshynskyi district following the fall of\u00a0debris. In\u00a0the Shevchenkivskyi district, debris struck a\u00a0non-residential building, causing a\u00a0fire on\u00a0the second and third floors.<\/p>\n

Additional damage was reported in\u00a0the Darnytskyi district, where debris ignited a\u00a0fire on\u00a0the grounds of\u00a0a\u00a0gas station.Power outages were reported in\u00a0parts of\u00a0the Podilskyi, Obolonskyi, and Sviatoshynskyi districts.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the Solomianskyi district, debris believed to\u00a0be\u00a0from a\u00a0missile struck a\u00a015-story residential building, damaging its upper floors. Authorities also reported a\u00a0separate fire at\u00a0a\u00a0private house after suspected drone debris fell onto the grounds of\u00a0a\u00a0private property.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0Klitschko, a\u00a0second strike hit the nine-story residential building in\u00a0the Podilskyi district, causing a\u00a0partial structural collapse. Emergency responders said people could be\u00a0trapped beneath the rubble.<\/p>\n

Kyiv City Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko later reported that one person had been killed in\u00a0the attack. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko subsequently said that 28\u00a0people had been injured, including a\u00a0three-year-old child. Twenty-one of\u00a0the wounded were hospitalized, while the others received outpatient treatment or\u00a0medical assistance at\u00a0the scene.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the Shevchenkivskyi district, a\u00a0missile struck a\u00a024-story residential building, causing a\u00a0fire between the fourth and fifth floors. Emergency services were dispatched to\u00a0the scene.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the Holosiivskyi district, falling debris caused a\u00a0fire at\u00a0a\u00a0clinic building. Klitschko later reported that the second and third floors of\u00a0the facility had partially collapsed as\u00a0a\u00a0result of\u00a0the strike and subsequent fire. Additional vehicle fires were also reported in\u00a0an\u00a0open area following another debris impact.<\/p>\n

UPD. As\u00a0of\u00a09\u00a0am, Klitschko reported<\/a> that the number of\u00a0injured as\u00a0a\u00a0result of\u00a0a\u00a0Russian strike on\u00a0Kyiv increased to\u00a065, including three children. 38\u00a0people were hospitalized, and a\u00a0Russian strike killed\u00a04.<\/p>\n

The only reason for Russia\u2019s overnight horrific attack against Ukraine with 656 drones and 73 missiles that killed at least 12, including children, and injured hundreds of civilians is that Putin is a war criminal and loser who has no cards except terror.<\/p>\n

\n Kharkiv<\/p>\n

Kharkiv came under a\u00a0combined Russian attack overnight involving 15\u00a0attack drones and two missiles, according to\u00a0Mayor Ihor Terekhov. Russian strikes were recorded in\u00a0four districts of\u00a0the city: Osnovianskyi, Slobidskyi, Nemyshlianskyi, and Kyivskyi.<\/p>\n

The Osnovianskyi district sustained the largest number of\u00a0strikes. According to\u00a0Terekhov, the attacks damaged private homes, administrative buildings, the grounds of\u00a0a\u00a0preschool facility, and other civilian infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Russia is currently carrying out a large-scale combined missile-drone attack on Ukraine.<\/p>\n

Sea-launched Kalibr cruise missiles struck the cities of Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia, while Shahed\/Geran-type long-range OWA-UAVs hit Sumy and Kharkiv.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the Slobidskyi district, a\u00a0multi-story residential building, vehicles, and street lighting infrastructure were damaged.<\/p>\n

A\u00a0drone strike in\u00a0the Nemyshlianskyi district damaged an\u00a0office building and sparked a\u00a0fire. In\u00a0the Kyivskyi district, Russian strikes hit the grounds of\u00a0industrial enterprises. According to\u00a0Terekhov, at\u00a0least 10\u00a0people were injured in\u00a0the attack, including one child.<\/p>\n

Dnipropetrovsk region<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the city of\u00a0Dnipro, regional military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha reported that part of\u00a0a\u00a0two-story residential building was destroyed following the attack. A\u00a0fire broke out at\u00a0the site as\u00a0emergency crews responded to\u00a0the aftermath.<\/p>\n

Hanzha later said the death toll had risen to\u00a0five. According to\u00a0Hanzha, 25\u00a0people were injured in\u00a0the attack. Twenty-three were hospitalized, including a\u00a013-year-old girl whose condition was reported as\u00a0moderate. Three of\u00a0the wounded were in\u00a0serious condition.<\/p>\n

The attack also damaged several apartments in\u00a0a\u00a0four-story residential building. In\u00a0the city of\u00a0Kamianske, authorities reported fires in\u00a0both a\u00a0single-story and a\u00a0five-story residential building. Emergency services continued efforts to\u00a0extinguish the fires and assess the extent of\u00a0the damage.<\/p>\n

UPD. As\u00a0of\u00a09:35 am, Hanzha reported<\/a> that the death toll from a\u00a0Russian airstrike had increased to\u00a08\u00a0people, including a\u00a02-year-old child. In\u00a0total, 35\u00a0people were injured<\/a>, 20\u00a0of\u00a0them hospitalized.<\/p>\n

UPD2. As\u00a0of\u00a011:52 am, the number of\u00a0casualties from a\u00a0Russian airstrike on\u00a0Dnipro increased<\/a> to\u00a011. The strike injured 37\u00a0people, 22\u00a0of\u00a0them are hospitalized.<\/p>\n

Zaporizhzhia<\/p>\n

Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration head Ivan Fedorov said Russian strikes damaged critical and industrial infrastructure facilities.<\/p>\n

One strike was reported late on\u00a0June 1, while another occurred shortly after midnight. According to\u00a0Fedorov, an\u00a0industrial facility was among the targets hit during the attack.<\/p>\n

Fedorov later said Zaporizhzhia was under a\u00a0\u201cmassive enemy attack,\u201d reporting at\u00a0least 20\u00a0strikes on\u00a0the regional center using various types of\u00a0weapons. The extent of\u00a0the damage and possible casualties was still being determined at\u00a0the time of\u00a0publication.<\/p>\n

According to\u00a0the Ukrainian Air Force, Russian forces launched attack drones throughout June 1\u00a0before expanding the operation overnight with additional missile strikes. Air defense alerts remained active across several regions as\u00a0Ukrainian forces responded to\u00a0the attack.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Russian forces launched<\/a> more than 700\u00a0missiles and drones within a\u00a024-hour period. The strikes killed at\u00a0least 16\u00a0people in\u00a0Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, and other cities, while emergency workers in\u00a0the capital were targeted in\u00a0a\u00a0double-tap attack during rescue operations.<\/p>\n
