A Brampton planning report outlines the proposal to transform the 1.8-acre site in Ward 4 into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly commercial plaza.<\/p>\n
The development application, submitted by Glen Schnarr & Associates Inc. on behalf of Dulsco Construction Inc., shows plans for a 1,078-square-metre space earmarked for a large grocery retailer to serve the surrounding community.<\/p>\n

\nTwo-Storey Mixed-Use Building: Ground-floor retail space spanning 1,186 square meters, with an additional 113,401.07 sq-ft of office space on the second floor.
\nParking: 140 total vehicle spaces divided between surface-level parking and one level of underground parking.
\nGreen Space: Nearly 19 per cent of the site will be dedicated to landscaped areas.<\/p>\n
The property at 8680 Chinguacousy Road was originally approved for a 108-unit stacked townhouse development back in August 2022. However, city planners are now supporting the shift from residential to commercial use.<\/p>\n
A city planning staff report that will be presented at an upcoming planning committee meeting says the plaza will bring essential everyday retail and employment directly to an area planned predominantly for housing. It will optimize vacant land, utilize existing transit infrastructure, and generate new local jobs.<\/p>\n
The proposal has already undergone a statutory public meeting. City planning staff have confirmed that the project aligns with the Provincial Planning Statement and Brampton\u2019s Official Plan.<\/p>\n
