A.J. Brown<\/a> is officially<\/a> a member of the New England Patriots<\/a> and has instantly provided a massive boost to the offense.<\/p>\n

The Patriots still have concerns both on and off the field though, notably Pro Bowl cornerback Chrisitan Gonzalez’s OTAs absence<\/a> and head coach Mike Vrabel’s affair scandal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

NFL senior writer Conor Orr of Sports Illustrated revealed his “100 Bold Predictions<\/a>” for the upcoming season on Tuesday and numerous items were centered around New England<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Orr predicted a major regression for the Patriots, as well as a return to the top of the AFC East for the Buffalo Bills<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“After a 14\u20133 season and a Super Bowl run comes the crash. While Patriots fans are going to see this as a tremendous insult, think back to the 2024 Lions, a team that won 15 games only to win nine and miss the playoffs the following season. In almost every conceivable way, that 2024 Lions team was much better than the 2025 Patriots team that actually reached the Super Bowl. Regression happens,” the insider wrote, predicting that New England will win less than 10 games. “Schedule-induced hangovers happen. What happened last year was a kind of impromptu rainbow of a season that occurred as a confluence of many unplanned events. This year, it will be far harder to replicate.”<\/p>\n

Orr is far from the first<\/a> NFL analyst to predict that the Patriots will take a step back in 2026<\/a>, as many have pointed to New England’s historically easy schedule as a primary reason for its success in 2025.<\/p>\n

“With half of the division in rebuilding mode and the Patriots in regression mode, the most talented quarterback will win out and lead the Bills to another division title with a comfortable two-game margin over New England,” Orr said.<\/p>\n
