Councillor Tom Davis (VOCM News)<\/p>\n

St. John\u2019s city councillor Tom Davis has been suspended from council for one month \u2013 with pay- after he was found to have breached the city\u2019s Code of Conduct.<\/p>\n

The complaint was filed on March 10th following a verbal exchange before a council meeting.<\/p>\n

Due to the personal nature of the situation, no other details are being provided.<\/p>\n

An investigation was launched<\/a> and Davis was found to have breached a number of sections within the Code of Conduct including using \u201cinsensitive and disrespectful language,\u201d \u201cmultiple comments made to colleagues that failed to respect the opinions and perspectives of others and were offensive,\u201d and questioning the competency of staff, the cumulative effects of which created a \u201cpoisoned work environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Councillor Greg Noseworthy read motion in Council beside Davis in the council chambers this afternoon.<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncillor Davis is required to attend training as determined by council, focusing on effective and respectful communication, professionalism in the workplace, insensitivity and inclusion within 60 days of today, June 2nd, 2026, with ongoing support as required.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCouncillor Davis will be suspended from council for one month, with pay, from June 2nd 2026 to July 2nd, 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n
