The city is looking to add more honourees to its list of approved potential street names, including local sports teams, politicians and community builders.<\/p>\n
A report going to Brampton City Council on Wednesday will look to add 10 names to the city\u2019s pre-approved Street Naming Register, and includes options for roadways named after the Brampton Honey Badgers and Brampton Steelheads.<\/p>\n
Here are all the names expected to be added to the city\u2019s Street Naming Register on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Chattha: The Chattha family has contributed to Brampton\u2019s growth for nearly 40 years \u201cthrough development projects and community-focused initiatives spanning four generations,\u201d the city says.<\/p>\n
Harry Chadwick: A Brampton alderman for 15 years and later a Member of Parliament, Chadwick was also a former Ford autoworker and union leader, \u201cand a strong early supporter of the Bramalea community,\u201d the city says.<\/p>\n
Helen Cassin: Cassin was the first woman on the Toronto Gore Council, and financial secretary. She is a descendant of the Harrison family that settled in the Toronto Gore area, the city says.<\/p>\n
Nicholas Harrison: A long-serving Clerk of the Township of Toronto Gore, Harrison was a community leader \u201cwhose decades of public service merit formal recognition,\u201d the city says.<\/p>\n
Orchalaw: This street name will align with others in Brampton\u2019s last greenfield area, highlighting the apple orchard history of northwest Brampton.<\/p>\n
