A Brampton man has been charged after police say an employee of an armoured car company helped steal a quantity of cash from an armoured vehicle in downtown Toronto.<\/p>\n
According to the Toronto Police, the theft occurred on April 14, 2025, in the area of Yonge Street and Dundas Street East.<\/p>\n
Investigators say two armoured car guards left their vehicle to complete a cash drop-off at a nearby business. While the guards were inside, a white pickup truck pulled up alongside the armoured vehicle.<\/p>\n
Police say a lone suspect got out of the pickup truck, entered the armoured vehicle through an unlocked front door and removed a quantity of cash before fleeing the scene.<\/p>\n
The case was assigned to the Toronto Police Hold Up Squad, which launched an investigation into the theft.<\/p>\n
Police say investigators allege an employee of the armoured car company is involved in the incident.<\/p>\n
On May 13, officers executed a Criminal Code search warrant and arrested a suspect. During the search, investigators allegedly recovered a firearm and other items considered relevant to the investigation.<\/p>\n
Dane Marson, 35, of Brampton, has been charged with theft over $5,000, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, possession of a firearm without a licence, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a loaded regulated firearm, possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm without a valid licence, three counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon or device, and failing to comply with an undertaking.<\/p>\n
The accused was scheduled to appear before the Toronto Regional Bail Centre on May 14.<\/p>\n
