The heir\u00a0to the Spanish throne, Princess Leonor, has completed basic paratrooper training at the Military Parachuting School in Murcia in southeastern Spain<\/a>, the Royal Household announced in Madrid<\/a> on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Leonor, 20,\u00a0completed several jumps, including a night jump in May, in order to earn the “Cazador Paracaidista” badge and a diploma alongside 50 other cadets.<\/p>\n

The parachuting course formed part of Leonor’s military training at the General Academy of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AGA), where she is currently in her third and final year of officer training.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As the daughter of King Felipe VI<\/a> and Queen Letizia, Leonor is next in line to the Spanish throne and will become commander-in-chief of the Spanish Armed Forces upon her accession.<\/p>\n

Leonor began her military career at the Army Academy in Zaragoza aged 17<\/a> before joining the Navy for a training voyage lasting several months.<\/p>\n

She has been stationed with the Air Force since last September and has since completed her first solo flight.<\/p>\n

Leonor is considered somewhat shy but is also described as level-headed, prudent, determined and well-organized.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She has passed survival training and is physically very fit, according to military superiors cited by Spanish media.<\/p>\n
