Edmonton police are seeking two suspects after a midday stabbing at a west-end convenience store last month.<\/p>\n
On May 21, officers responded to a noon report of a robbery at a convenience store in the area of 157 Street and Stony Plain Road, police said in a Tuesday news release.<\/p>\n
Police said a man and a woman entered the store and began shoplifting items when a convenience store clerk approached them, resulting in a confrontation. In the ensuing struggle, the clerk, a 44-year-old man, was stabbed, police said.<\/p>\n
He was treated on scene by EMS paramedics and taken to hospital with\u00a0serious but non-life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
\u201cPublic safety requires a collaboration between police and the community,\u201d said EPS Const. Roy Pickell, in the news release. \u201cWe\u2019re hopeful that with the public\u2019s assistance we can identify the individuals responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police describe the two suspects as a man wearing a black t-shirt with white graphics on the front, black track pants, black boots, and carrying a black backpack; and a woman wearing maroon-coloured pants and jacket, black boots, and carrying a black bag.<\/p>\n
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.<\/p>\n
