How likely is a reunion trade for the Golden State Warriors<\/a> this summer?<\/p>\n

Well, it\u2019s far from the most logical offseason scenario, but as we know, things can shift quickly in the NBA.<\/p>\n

Kevin Durant has been linked to the Dubs for months. Although the 16-time All-Star made it clear he didn\u2019t want to return to Golden State before this year\u2019s trade deadline, it hasn\u2019t stopped individuals from suggesting that a reunion could be just what the doctor ordered for Golden State in the offseason.<\/p>\n

A Jordan Poole reunion hasn\u2019t gained as much steam, but a recent New Orleans Pelicans<\/a> trade rumor opened the door<\/a> for the Warriors to make a move that would stun the league.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeyond a centerpiece deal for (Jaylen) Brown, the Pelicans are also looking to execute secondary trades to flush out their roster and build maximum financial flexibility,\u201d NBA insider Scoop B. Robinson reported Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cSources note that the front office is actively trying to utilize Jordan Poole, Jordan Hawkins, and Kevon Looney as expiring salary matching chips in upcoming negotiations. Poole, Hawkins, and Looney have all dropped out of the team\u2019s primary rotation and are viewed as essential tools to balance out the money in multi-team blockbusters.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s well-documented that Poole\u2019s stint with the Warriors ended sourly. After the Warriors\u2019 2021-22 championship campaign, Poole was infamously sucker punched by Draymond Green during a 2022 practice. While the 26-year-old was stellar in the regular season, his postseason production took a noticeable hit, which played a role in the Warriors\u2019 second-round playoff exit.<\/p>\n

Golden State traded Poole to the Washington Wizards<\/a> in the summer, but he only lasted two seasons in Washington before getting shipped to the Pelicans in 2025.<\/p>\n

Considering that Green has already publicly apologized for the locker-room separating-incident and there\u2019s no guarantee a trade will materialize with one of the franchise\u2019s main targets this summer, Poole could soon enter the equation.<\/p>\n

The 26-year-old\u2019s proven scoring\/shot-creating prowess and familiarity with the Warriors\u2019 high-octane system wouldn\u2019t make him a terrible fit in 2026.<\/p>\n

Poole is only two years removed from a 20.4 points per game campaign alongside Stephen Curry, which could play a factor in Golden State\u2019s stance on potentially bringing the former first-round pick back to his first NBA home.<\/p>\n
