According to a Billboard Pro<\/a> report, the masked Iowan metal outfit are close to finalising a deal to sell their back catalogue to HarbourView Equity Partners. The deal will cover ownership rights to their publishing and master recording royalties.<\/p>\n

The deal will reportedly not include any future releases that the band may have in store. Billboard Pro\u2018s sources have also not confirmed how many members of the band are involved in the deal \u2013 the deal\u2019s valuation multiple could jump by nearly 20 times with more members involved.<\/p>\n

The deal comes after the band left their longtime label Roadrunner Records in 2022<\/a>, with their most recent album \u2013 that year\u2019s \u2018The End So Far\u2019<\/a> \u2013 marking their final release with the imprint.<\/p>\n

With the possible sale, Slipknot follow in the footsteps of Pink Floyd<\/a>,\u00a0Queen<\/a>,\u00a0Kiss<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Tame Impala<\/a>.\u00a0Pink Floyd sold their catalogue to Sony in October for $400million<\/a>, while\u00a0Tame Impala\u2019s Kevin Parker has sold all past and future catalogue to Sony for an undisclosed sum<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Similarly,\u00a0Kiss have sold their entire catalogue, brand name, likeness and IP to Swedish entertainment and music investment firm Pophouse<\/a>\u00a0for an undisclosed amount. To date, the most expensive catalogue in music history belongs to Queen,\u00a0who sold to Sony in June last year for a whopping USD$1.27billion<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 marking the biggest acquisition of its nature ever.<\/p>\n

As for Slipknot, the band have announced a massive 25th anniversary reissue of their self-titled debut album<\/a>. The 25th anniversary \u2018Slipknot\u2019 reissue will come with a whopping 40 unreleased tracks, new artwork, demo and live recordings, previously unseen images from the band\u2019s personal archives and more.<\/p>\n

The reissue will be available both physically and digitally from September 25 onwards, and will come in several variations \u2013 you can\u00a0pre-order your copy here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0NME\u00a0back in December<\/a>, percussionist and overall band mastermind Shawn \u2018Clown\u2019 Crahan gave us an update on \u2018Look Outside Your Window\u2019, the\u00a0long-awaited lost album from Slipknot<\/a>. The album is expected to arrive sometime this year \u2013 Clown told us\u00a0that the long-awaited LP was out of his hands and with management for the final steps<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Slipknot\u2019s Clown teased that the record is\u00a0\u201cnot even close\u201d to the band\u2019s usual style<\/a>, adding: \u201cIt was never a Slipknot album. Not while it was happening, not while I\u2019ve held onto it for 10 years, and certainly not fuckin\u2019 when it comes out.\u201d So far, only one track from the album has been released: \u2018All Hope Is Gone\u2019 bonus track \u2018Til We Die\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Slipknot are reportedly selling their past music catalogue for $120million \u2013 find out more below.
