The ability to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/google-pixel-take-a-message-custom-greeting-how-to-3656399\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">record custom outgoing messages for the Pixel\u2019s \u201cTake a Message\u201d<\/a> voicemail feature was originally spotted in a beta version of the Phone app back in April. It\u2019s now rolling out in the stable channel as well, meaning you can now record custom voicemail greetings that play when your Pixel phone answers a call for you.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t want to miss the best from Android Authority?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/andauth.co\/AAGooglePreferredSource\" class=\"e_Rm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\"><img class=\"e_Ph\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"google preferred source badge light@2x\"  alt=\"google preferred source badge light@2x\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1768233971_656_google_preferred_source_badge_light@2x.png\"\/><img class=\"e_Ph\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\"  title=\"google preferred source badge dark@2x\"  alt=\"google preferred source badge dark@2x\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/1768233972_401_google_preferred_source_badge_dark@2x.png\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve updated your Phone app to the latest version, the app\u2019s home screen will display a pop-up inviting you to try out the new feature. You can directly use this to set things up, or you can go to the \u201cManage greetings\u201d option within the Phone app\u2019s \u201cTake a Message\u201d settings.<\/p>\n<p>You can record and save as many greetings as you like, and setting one as the default is as simple as selecting the \u201cSet as default\u201d option from the three-dot menu.<\/p>\n<p>Right now, you can choose to use the \u201cStandard greeting\u201d or record your own. Your Pixel will then use your selected greeting whenever it answers a call from any contact or phone number. However, back in April, we did see some strings in the Phone app that suggested it could <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/google-pixel-take-message-custom-greetings-beta-3656384\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">let you set specific greetings for individual contacts<\/a> to make the feature even more personal.<\/p>\n<p>Custom greetings for \u201cTake a Message\u201d are now available in the Phone app for users in Australia, Canada, the US, the UK, and Ireland.
