\n\tRupert Everett<\/a> put in a lot of work trying to attain a perfect physique early in his career, but now he\u2019s suffering the consequences. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe My Best Friend\u2019s Wedding star recently opened up to The Guardian<\/a> about how he\u2019s now \u201calmost crippled\u201d after not working out properly when he was younger.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI ruined myself,\u201d he said. \u201cNow I\u2019m almost crippled as a result. I could never be bothered to do all those things, like stretching, which were necessary for lifting\u00a0weights, because your tendons get tighter and tighter. So boring. I didn\u2019t do any of that.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cSo now my demise will be musculoskeletal, I think,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tEverett broke out in the early 1980s with his role in Another Country, starring alongside Colin Firth, and Dance with a Stranger with Miranda Richardson. He later garnered more attention playing Julia Roberts\u2019 gay best friend in 1997\u2019s My Best Friend\u2019s Wedding, and then with 1999\u2019s An Ideal Husband and 2000\u2019s The Next Best Thing, opposite Madonna.<\/p>\n

\n\tBefore the Rivals actor even started working on his buff body, he revealed that he wore bodysuits on set to give the appearance of a better physique.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI met these two queens in Tufnell Park who made bodysuits, and they made me a false bottom, false calves, false shoulders, false everything,\u201d Everett said, admitting he wore them in \u201ceverything\u201d early in his acting career.<\/p>\n

\n\tHowever, he claimed the directors weren\u2019t aware, as he\u2019d \u201cgo into the fittings for the costumes with all my things on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMen and women in Hollywood have long felt pressure when it came to their physical appearance. Twilight star Robert Pattinson even recently clapped back<\/a> at critics of his superhero physique in 2022\u2019s\u00a0The Batman, saying, \u201cI worked out every fucking day. Even after that, I still look like I didn\u2019t work out.
