A Brampton man is facing multiple firearm-related charges following a violent home invasion in Grimsby that left a resident injured.<\/p>\n

The Niagara Regional Police Service says officers responded to a home in the town at about 3:30 a.m. on May 1 after receiving reports of a home invasion.<\/p>\n

When officers arrived, the suspects had already fled the area in a vehicle. Police said the victim was assaulted during the incident and suffered minor injuries.<\/p>\n

The investigation was taken over by the Niagara police\u2019s 8 District Criminal Investigative Branch, which subsequently identified a suspect.<\/p>\n

On June 4, investigators, assisted by Peel Regional Police\u2019s Tactical and Rescue Unit, arrested 23-year-old Jahsyah Thomas of Brampton.<\/p>\n

Thomas has been charged with disguise with intent, break and enter, possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon, robbery with a firearm, pointing a firearm and uttering threats.<\/p>\n

Police have not released details about what was taken during the robbery or whether additional suspects are being sought.<\/p>\n

Thomas remained in custody and was scheduled to attend a bail hearing on June 4 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.<\/p>\n

Niagara police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact investigators.<\/p>\n
