After a brief pursuit, the suspect allegedly resisted arrest and assaulted the officer during a physical struggle. He then broke free, returned to his vehicle, and attempted to escape.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators say the suspect struck both the officer and a marked police cruiser while driving away in a grey 2007 BMW 525i bearing Ontario licence plate CSLJ609. The officer sustained minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>Police have identified the suspect as 41-year-old David Munoz of Brampton. Authorities say Munoz was prohibited from driving at the time due to previous criminal offences.<\/p>\n<p>A warrant has been issued for his arrest on multiple charges, including assaulting a peace officer, assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to comply with a release order, and breach of probation.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone with information about Munoz&#8217;s whereabouts is urged to contact Peel Regional Police&#8217;s 21 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-2121 ext. 2133.
