Add us as a preferred source on Google<\/a> to your favourites list for news you can trust<\/p>\n Vasseur arrived in Monte Carlo with the rest of the Ferrari team earlier this week and took his place on the pit wall for Friday\u2019s practices, where Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton traded fastest lap times in back-to-back 1-2 results.<\/p>\n The 58-year-old will, however, not be trackside for Saturday\u2019s qualifying after undergoing medical checks and he remains in hospital under observation.<\/p>\n \u201cFred Vasseur will not be present at the circuit today,\u201d the team said in a statement to PlanetF1.com.<\/p>\n \u201cFollowing some medical checks, Fred will remain under observation at a local medical facility.<\/p>\n \u201cNo further medical information will be provided.<\/p>\n \u201cWe wish Fred a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back at the track soon.\u201d<\/p>\n PlanetF1.com understands Vasseur\u2019s presence for Sunday\u2019s race remains uncertain.<\/p>\n Lewis Hamilton v Charles Leclerc: Ferrari\u2019s F1 2026 scores<\/p>\n F1 2026: Head-to-head qualifying statistics between teammates<\/a><\/p>\n F1 2026: Head-to-head race statistics between teammates<\/a><\/p>\n Vasseur had been happy with the start of Ferrari\u2019s Monaco Grand Prix after the team lived up to pre-race billing as the favourites, at least in practice.<\/p>\n Leclerc set the pace in FP1 with a 1:13.978, two-tenths faster than Hamilton, before the Briton reversed their fortunes in the day\u2019s second session. Hamilton posted a 1:13.026 to beat Leclerc by a tenth.<\/p>\n Vasseur, though, wasn\u2019t getting carried away.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s a very long way in Monaco from Friday, first to the quali, then to the race,\u201d said the Frenchman.<\/p>\n \u201cThe most difficult [thing] is that you have to anticipate the evolution of the track, the evolution of the grip, and you have to be always one session ahead.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a real challenge for the team and for the drivers.
