{"id":719312,"date":"2026-06-06T16:26:18","date_gmt":"2026-06-06T16:26:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/719312\/"},"modified":"2026-06-06T16:26:18","modified_gmt":"2026-06-06T16:26:18","slug":"nashville-predators-hire-rob-blake-as-executive-vice-president-of-hockey-operations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/719312\/","title":{"rendered":"Nashville Predators hire Rob Blake as executive vice president of hockey operations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/nashville-predators\/18\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/nashville-predators\/18\" target=\"_blank\">Nashville Predators<\/a> announced on Friday that Rob Blake has been hired as the executive vice president of hockey operations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He will work alongside president and general manager Chris MacFarland, who was hired on Wednesday after 11 seasons with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/colorado-avalanche\/21\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/colorado-avalanche\/21\" target=\"_blank\">Colorado Avalanche<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Blake mostly recently served as president and GM of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/los-angeles-kings\/26\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/los-angeles-kings\/26\" target=\"_blank\">Los Angeles Kings<\/a> from 2017-18 through the 2024-25 campaign. After the Kings lost in the first round for the fourth straight year to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/edmonton-oilers\/22\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/edmonton-oilers\/22\" target=\"_blank\">Edmonton Oilers<\/a> in 2025, Blake and the Kings mutually parted ways. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">He also helped the Kings win the Stanley Cup in 2014 as assistant general manager. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cMy family and I are very excited to join the Predators franchise and would like to thank Chris MacFarland for his trust in me,\u201d Blake said. \u201cThis is an organization with a great history and a very bright future, and I am thrilled to be a part of it. I am grateful to work with Chris, who is one of the best general managers in today\u2019s game, and build something special here in Nashville.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">As a player, Blake skated in 1,270 NHL games for the Kings, Avalanche and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/san-jose-sharks\/28\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.tsn.ca\/nhl\/team-page\/san-jose-sharks\/28\" target=\"_blank\">San Jose Sharks<\/a>. He won the Norris Trophy in 1998 and a Stanley Cup title with Colorado in 2001.
