National"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/tag\/canada-post\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Canada Post<\/a> says talks with its postal workers<a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/news\/11333153\/canada-post-union-restart-talks-strike-dispute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"> that were set to restart on Friday<\/a> have been pushed back a week due to a lack of available federal mediators.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755073388_375_70c8fc80.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"position:absolute;width:1px;height:1px\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\"\/><\/p>\n<p>In a statement to Global News, the Crown corporation said federal mediators were unavailable for the planned negotiations and talks have been rescheduled for Aug. 20.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe company looks forward to receiving a detailed and comprehensive response from CUPW (Canadian Union of Postal Workers) that addresses the real, significant and increasing challenges faced by the postal service,\u201d the Crown corporation said.<\/p>\n<p>The union said in a statement it was unfortunate the scheduled meetings for Friday and Monday had been postponed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe federal mediators will not be able to assist CUPW and CPC due to their current involvement in the Air Canada negotiations,\u201d CUPW said.<\/p>\n<p>Story continues below advertisement<\/p>\n<p>The union went on to say Canada Post\u2019s workers\u2019 recent vote that rejected what the Crown corporation called their final offers \u201csent an unmistakable message,\u201d adding that global offers have been prepared to address members\u2019 demands.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"170\" height=\"225\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/1755073389_716_national.jpg\" alt=\"Get the day's top news, political, economic, and current affairs headlines, delivered to your inbox once a day.\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\tGet daily National news<\/p>\n<p>Get the day&#8217;s top news, political, economic, and current affairs headlines, delivered to your inbox once a day.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the planned meeting Friday, now rescheduled for Wednesday, CUPW had been calling for a return to the bargaining table since the two-week vote.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"c-video__image\" alt=\"Click to play video: 'Labour showdowns at Air Canada &amp;
