Calgary police are investigating two shootings that left three men seriously injured.<\/p>\n
Officers were called to the 1300 block of 14th Ave S.W. shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, said Calgary police Staff Sgt. John Guigon.<\/p>\n
Police found two male victims with gunshot-related injuries at a Beltline apartment building. Both were taken to Foothills Medical Centre in serious condition but have since been upgraded to non-life-threatening, according to police.<\/p>\n
Then, shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a shooting incident in the 400 block of 5th Ave S.E., where they found a man with gunshot-related injuries. He was taken to hospital in serious condition and is now stable, Guigon said.<\/p>\n
Investigators have not yet determined whether the shootings were targeted or random, but Guigon said both incidents bear \u201cthe hallmarks\u201d of targeted shootings.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere (was) no robbery \u2026 no theft from (the victims), nothing like that,\u201d he said. \u201cTypically, a random shooting has something to do with another offence occurring.\u201d<\/p>\n
No arrests have been made as of Saturday morning, and police do not currently believe the two shootings, which occurred about five hours apart, are connected.<\/p>\n
\u201cAt this point we\u2019re looking at them as two separate incidents,\u201d Guigon said.<\/p>\n
The incidents bring the number of reported shootings in Calgary to at least four in the past four days.<\/p>\n
