Per a new report from Kelly Crandall<\/a>\u00a0<\/a>of <\/a>RACER<\/a>, Iowa Speedway is one of those tracks.<\/p>\n While there have been rumors of Iowa being an unknown for the 2026 schedule, removing the .875-mile oval from the calendar seemed like an unlikely move due to the track\u2019s impressive attendance through its first two seasons on the NASCAR calendar. Nonetheless, Crandall reports that the track\u2019s future \u201ccould go either way.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s hard to imagine that the track would lose its date, which it gained in 2024 after NASCAR sold off significant portions of the now semi-demolished Auto Club Speedway\u2019s property. However, with the state of the NASCAR Cup Series short track product, the track\u2019s high attendance and location may not be enough to maintain a spot.<\/p>\n Of course, this is not a definitive yes or no, as such a decision is important not only to NASCAR\u2019s midwestern market but also to the track\u2019s future, as this would not be the first time it has lost races. From 2009 to 2019, Iowa hosted the Truck and Xfinity Series before losing those dates after the COVID-19 Pandemic.<\/p>\n In a report that NASCAR is considering moving the All-Star Race to Dover Motor Speedway<\/a>, Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic was the first to report that the schedule could be released next week.
