One person is dead and three others injured following two separate weekend fires.<\/p>\n
The first fire broke out just before 1:30 p.m. Friday in a two-storey apartment complex in the 400 block of Ross Avenue.<\/p>\n
Thick black smoke was coming from the building when crews arrived. Firefighters entered the building and fought the blaze from inside. It took about half an hour to\u00a0bring the fire under control.<\/p>\n
One person was found in the suite where the fire started. They were pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.<\/p>\n
Three rescued from house fire<\/p>\n
A second fire broke out early Saturday morning, shortly after 3 a.m., in a two-storey house in the 500 block of Flora Avenue.<\/p>\n
Firefighters arrived to reports that a number of people were trapped inside.<\/p>\n
Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the house when crews arrived.<\/p>\n
Three people were rescued from the home by firefighters. All three were taken to hospital, one in unstable condition and two in stable condition.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Investigators working to determine causes<\/p>\n
There is no word on the cause of either fire.<\/p>\n
