Let\u2019s get nostalgic!<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree Times A Lady\u201d by Commodores from \u2018Natural High\u2019<\/p>\n<p>This soul jam, written by Lionel Richie, was a smash hit on the pop charts back in the day. In fact, \u201cThree Times A Lady\u201d was Commodores\u2019 first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and what a fine song to reach such a feat.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLove Is Like Oxygen\u201d by Sweet from \u2018Level Headed\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Disco wasn\u2019t dead yet by the time 1978 rolled around, and this excellent glam rock disco-tinged tune was just one of many hits of its type to make it far on the charts. Written by Trevor Griffin and Andy Scott, Sweet\u2019s \u201cLove Is Like Oxygen\u201d was a smash hit and a notable divergence from the band\u2019s earlier sound. Those harmonies are on another level. \u201cLove Is Like Oxygen\u201d peaked at No. 8 on the Hot 100 and No. 9 on the UK Singles chart.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHopelessly Devoted To You\u201d by Olivia Newton-John from \u2018Grease: The Original Soundtrack From The Motion Picture\u2019<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/americansongwriter.com\/tag\/olivia-newton-john\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Olivia Newton-John<\/a> enjoyed quite a career high in the late 1970s when she appeared in the musical film Grease. And the country pop classic \u201cHopelessly Devoted To You\u201d quickly became the torch song of the decade. Newton-John\u2019s vocals are on another level, and this original composition by John Farrar is still so easy to sing along to. \u201cHopelessly Devoted To You\u201d peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and topped the charts in Canada, Belgium, Ireland, and the Netherlands. It also scored an Oscar nom for Best Original Song.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCopacabana\u201d by Barry Manilow from \u2018Even Now\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Barry Manilow\u2019s \u201cCopacabana\u201d might just be his signature hit. And it\u2019s one of many songs from 1978 that baby boomer fans still know by heart today. This hit off of Even Now was written by Manilow, Jack Feldman, and Bruce Sussman.
