{"id":722365,"date":"2026-06-08T05:08:22","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T05:08:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/722365\/"},"modified":"2026-06-08T05:08:22","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T05:08:22","slug":"2-people-hospitalized-after-fire-in-2-storey-rooming-house-in-winnipeg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/722365\/","title":{"rendered":"2 people hospitalized after\u00a0fire in 2-storey rooming house in Winnipeg"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A resident of a rooming house and a firefighter were hospitalized after a fire broke out in a two-storey rooming house Saturday night.<\/p>\n<p>Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to\u00a0a fire a 911 call around 9:30 p.m. reporting the fire in the rooming house located in the 300 block of Redwood Avenue.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming from the building and contained the fire in about half an hour.<\/p>\n<p>The residents of the building were evacuated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne resident was assessed by paramedics and transported to hospital in unstable condition,\u201d WFPS said, in a press release.<\/p>\n<p>A firefighter was also taken to a hospital after an injury sustained during the operation.<\/p>\n<p>The fire is under investigation.
