The Vancouver Canucks appear to be open to making a trade for Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher.<\/p>\n
Gallagher, who grew up in Tsawwassen, has spent his entire 911-game career in a Habs uniform. After being healthy scratched in all but three of the Canadiens\u2019 playoff games, the 34-year-old made it clear that he won\u2019t be returning to Montreal<\/a> in 2026-27.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m going to keep playing. There\u2019s more in the tank,\u201d Gallagher told reporters last week. \u201cObviously, I would have loved for it to be here. It\u2019s just one of those situations where I guess my time has come, and they\u2019ve moved on. For me as a player, I\u2019m looking forward to kind of getting back to what I do.\u201d<\/p>\n The Canucks were a team immediately linked to Gallagher for a variety of reasons. One is that they have plenty of cap space to add his $6.5-million salary. He also provides a great veteran presence, which the locker room needs, and, perhaps, the cherry on top, he spent his entire junior hockey career with the WHL\u2019s Vancouver Giants.<\/p>\n On Monday morning, Gallagher\u2019s agent, Gerry Johansson, told CHEK\u2019s Rick Dhaliwal and Don Taylor that the Canucks have expressed interest, though there are \u201clots of moving parts.\u201d<\/p>\n Brendan Gallagher\u2019s agent Gerry Johannson tells @DonnieandDhali<\/a> that he has talked to the #Canucks<\/a> about Gallagher : “VAN has initially expressed interest but lots of moving parts.
