{"id":725143,"date":"2026-06-09T12:47:09","date_gmt":"2026-06-09T12:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/725143\/"},"modified":"2026-06-09T12:47:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-09T12:47:09","slug":"large-farming-operation-destroyed-in-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/725143\/","title":{"rendered":"Large farming operation destroyed in fire"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/fire-2.jpg\" class=\"header-image\" alt=\"Large farming operation destroyed in fire\"\/>\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>A large fire in Greater Napanee on Monday evening.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after 7:00 p.m., fire crews were first called near South Shore Road, by Adulphustown.<\/p>\n<p>Heavy black smoke and flame were visible from as far away as Kingston and Quinte West, as the building burned, which appeared to spread past outside of the barn.<\/p>\n<p>Social media chatter indicates the property is called Hay Bay Genetics, described as a hog farm operation, however that has not been confirmed by official sources.<\/p>\n<p>Those unofficial sources also state no animals were harmed in the blaze.<\/p>\n<p>Loyalist Township, Mohawk, Tyendinaga Township, Deseronto, and Kingston Fire and other crews were called to the scene, along with Greater Napanee Fire.<\/p>\n<p>Hydro One and the OPP also responded.<\/p>\n<p>More information is anticipated Tuesday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"&#13; A large fire in Greater Napanee on Monday evening.
