Note: The Jets are done. The Moose are done. We will still try to get you anything relevant to the pro hockey clubs of Manitoba during the next little bit. Of course the big focus is on the 2026 NHL Draft for which the Jets hold the 8th overall selection. We will be spending\u00a0quite a bit of time learning about the players<\/a>\u00a0who could hear their name get called by Winnipeg at the end of June. We will be at the Jets Draft Party on Friday, June 26th doing a live first round broadcast so be sure you\u2019re\u00a0following along on our YouTube channel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Note II: The NHL Draft Combine took place in Buffalo this past weekend. It gave folks a chance to get to hear from some of the top picks expected to be selected later this month. Yesterday, we posted three interviews with players who could hear their name picked by the Jets with the 8th overall pick including:\u00a0Daxon Rudolph (watch here<\/a>), Keaton Verhoeff (watch here<\/a>) and Tynan Lawrence (watch here<\/a>). We will have another round of interviews to watch today.<\/p>\n

Note III: Former Moose pro scout Spiros Anastas is headed to his first<\/a> Calder Cup Final as a head coach. He took over the Chicago Wolves bench in December and has guided them to the Western Conference championship. They\u2019ll now face the Toronto Marlies for the Calder Cup.<\/p>\n

Global News:\u00a0Surprise \u2014 Winnipeg Jets not part of early entry list for Dylan Larkin derby<\/a>. In this instance folks in Manitoba shouldn\u2019t feel slighted since Larkin\u2019s list only included three teams (although they won\u2019t like that Minnesota was reportedly on his list). As I wrote yesterday in response to the Athletic article the likelihood of him ending up in the \u2018Peg was nonexistent.<\/p>\n
