The soundtrack for hit horror film Backrooms<\/a> is going to be pressed on vinyl later this summer.<\/p>\n

The A24 movie, about a psychiatrist searching for her client through a series of parallel dimensions, is proving to be a huge hit at the box office, bringing in $81.4million (\u00a360.4million) in the US and $117.9 million (\u00a387.5million) globally during the opening weekend alone.<\/p>\n

Now, the soundtrack is getting a vinyl release and is available to pre-order now. The 2LP release includes the film\u2019s original score, composed by director Kane Parsons and Edo Van Breemen (The Monkey, Keeper), and is expected to ship this August.<\/p>\n

While not included in the vinyl release, the movie also featured a haunting track from Boards Of Canada during the ending credits<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The track in question was the ominous \u2018The Word Becomes Flesh\u2019, which featured on the Scottish band\u2019s new album, \u2018Inferno<\/a>\u2019. That record dropped on the same day as the movie, and is the first from the duo since 2013\u2019s \u2018Tomorrow\u2019s Harvest<\/a>\u2019.<\/p>\n

Kane Parsons spoke to GQ<\/a> recently about the influences for the film, and name-checked Boards Of Canada as one of the inspirations for his score.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Since the film was released, the 20-year-old director has also spoken about drawing heavily from video game Portal<\/a> when writing the screenplay, as well as confirming plans to make a sequel<\/a>, and batting off accusations of \u201cghost directing\u201d the horror flick.<\/a><\/p>\n

In a four-star review<\/a> of Backrooms, NME wrote: \u201cBackrooms\u2019 vibes-based momentum won\u2019t be to everyone\u2019s taste. For some there\u2019ll be too much explanation and for others, too little. But it\u2019s an intriguing, memorable creation with the power to rattle, as Parsons lurks in the intersection between dread and delirium.
